Armador Cabernet Sauvignon

In the bygone days of sailing ships, wine was the drink of choice on long voyages. Today Dan Odfjell, a norwegian shipowner, perpetuates his legacy by making wines to sail from Chile across the seven seas.

100% Organic Wine

Composition: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Tintorera, 5% Syrah.
Vineyards: Central Valley: Maipo Valley, and Maule Valley.

Age: 21 years

HARVEST

Harvest date: Mid-March to late April 2017

Brix: 23º-24º Brix.

WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES

The grapes were handpicked, and the bunches were destemmed but not crushed. The whole berries then underwent a four-day cold maceration at 14oC prior to fermentation in 40,000-liter tanks using selected and native yeasts, followed by a 10-day post-fermentation maceration at 25oC. Malolactic fermentation took place spontaneously in tanks.

WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES

A ruby color with hints of violets. Red fruit such as stawberries and plums, as well as its well known aromas of liquorice, anis and a touch of vanilla, chocolat and champignon aromas. Perfectly balanced with ripe, fresh tannins and a long refreshing nish.
